Character Formation
Daily conversations on virtue, brotherhood and self-mastery, led by mentors who know each boy by name.
— Summer 2025 · A cultural & arts formation camp
N° 01 · Why HSE
HSE is a residential summer programme for secondary-school boys, held each year in Lagos. Across two weeks, your son will study under practising artists, write his first short film, sit in conversation with men of consequence, and quietly grow into himself.
We do not entertain him. We give him better company, better tools, and a programme calibrated to produce the kind of young man you would be proud to introduce.
N° 02 · The Programme
Daily conversations on virtue, brotherhood and self-mastery, led by mentors who know each boy by name.
Studio sessions with practising Nigerian artists and curated visits to the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art.
From short fiction to spoken word — finding a voice that is honest, careful and his own.
Modern storytelling in his pocket. Direction, edit, sound — taught at the School of Media & Communication.
Football, swimming, cricket, table tennis. Where character is rehearsed, and friendships are forged.
Standing well, listening better, speaking with intention. Workshops that end with the boys taking the floor.
N° 03 · A day at HSE
Days are full but unhurried — built around studio time, the company of mentors, and the quiet rhythms that turn a holiday into a formation.

“We do not teach art. We use art to teach the boy.”

N° 04 · Parents speak
“My son came home different — quieter in the best way, and more sure of himself. The men at HSE are the kind of men I want him to become.”
Sarah Williams
Parent, Lagos
“The standard of instruction is extraordinary. It is rare in Nigeria to find a programme that takes both the boy and the art so seriously.”
Dr. Amara Okafor

“He hasn't stopped drawing since he came back. We're already planning for next year.”
